Community  Events

The OULGBTQ+ Society puts on several trans and non-binary events every term – see our Socials and Events page. You can also get involved in the LGBTQ+ Campaign, which is part of the SU, and focuses more on political activism. There are also trans meet-ups for the whole Oxford community, not just students, such as Fruit Salad, hosted by T(ART) Productions, and TransOxford, a monthly support group.

Trans-fRiendly  Hairdressers

  • Duke’s, Covered Market - a small, 3-seat barber shop which generally cuts shortish length hair. They offer student discount on Monday to Thursday, charging around £12-15. They get very busy around lunchtime, early afternoon, and weekends.
  • Classique, Botley Road - unisex hairdressers.
  • Ann Veck Salon, St Clement's - offers hairstyling, colouring and extensions, with a student discount Monday to Wednesday on some of their services.
  • Matthew Clulee, Ship Street & St Michael's Street - they offer styling and colouring services from £30 and offer a £5 student discount on some services.
  • Open Barbers - London-based trans and queer-friendly hairdressers, operates a sliding scale pricing system, typically starting from £10 but with a few extra affordable appointments. They do occasional trips to Oxford, so look out for that!
