University Organisations
  • LGBTQ+ Reps at each college put on events for the queer community in their college - if you're a college rep and would like to be added to the college reps groupchat you can message our College Reps Officer. 
  • The Student Union has an LGBTQ+ Campaigning Officer to campaign and lobby the university on behalf of queer students in Oxford, replacing the previous LGBTQ+ Campaign.
  • The LGBT+ Staff Network represents and runs events for queer staff across the university, hosting a social on the first Thursday of every month.
  • Likewise, Oxford Brookes University has the Brookes LGBTQ+ Students' Network and Brookes LGBTQ+ Staff Forum.
  • The Oxford Pride Alumni Network (OxPAN) runs events for queer Oxford alumni in several locations, including Oxford itself.
  • Queer Week (Michaelmas): In 6th Week of Michaelmas, Wadham puts together a week long festival of speakers, workshops, and events which culminates in Queerfest, a night of partying in Wadham’s gardens.
  • Kolour Theory, a new society for QPOC in the University of Oxford (the QPOC Project is currently defunct).
  • The Green Carnations, an intersectional queer zine/initiative showcasing the gorgeous, chaotic creativity of LGBT students & alumni.
  • The LGBTQ+ History Network is part of the History Faculty and puts on events related to queer history.
  • LGBTQIA+ Research Group - You can join the mailing list by sending a blank email to [email protected].
  • Trans Studies Working Group
  • Glitterball (currently on hiatus) is the LGBTQ+ ball, first held in 2017. 
  • Additionally, many colleges put on special events for LGBTQ+ History Month in February and Pride Month in June.
Local Organisations
  • The Jolly Farmers is Oxford's oldest LGBTQ+ pub, hosting several groups and regular events including games, quizzes, and open mic nights.
  • Oxford for Trans Rights is a group for folks organising around trans rights and liberation - they also have a list of even more queer events in Oxford.
  • Oxford Proud Voices Choir is a queer community choir in Oxford which meets once a week at the Friends Meeting House on St Giles.
  • T(ART) Productions is an Oxford-based arts company that also hosts events for the queer community, including yoga, life drawing, and a trans, non-binary, and intersex meetup called Fruit Salad.
  • YWMP provides an inclusive, supportive space for young women, trans and non-binary people to get together to make music, learn new skills, express themselves, and grow in confidence.
  • Abingdon Queer Action, a queer- and trans-led collective with radical roots, focusing on community care, support and defence across Oxfordshire
  • Cowley Community Closet
Other Events
  • Oxford Pride (Trinity): A collection of events from the end of May to start of June, ending with the Parade, starting from Radcliffe Square, and a festival, with a variety of stalls and performances.
  • Oxford DIY Pride, an event for the community, by the community, to uplift each other and honour the true spirit of Pride.
  • Oxford Trans Social hosts events including a social at 1pm in Common Ground on the second Saturday of each month.
  • T-Time, a monthly Oxford Queer and Trans+ Social at Cosy Club featuring boardgames, drinks, makeup and more.
  • Molly: Party for Queers is a monthly social frequented by many members of the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Whiplash is a queer punk live music night.
The LGBTQ+ Society operates a strict Zero Tolerance Policy to ensure our events are as inclusive and safe as possible.Our policy extends to but is not limited to: homophobia, racism, transphobia, queerphobia, biphobia, misogyny, harassment, xenophobia, classism, antisemitism, islamophobia and ableism.
