Many people experience feelings of stress at the perceived disconnect between their gender identity and appearance. The Gender Expression Fund is available to provide financial assistance for students whose welfare would be benefited by the purchase of gender-affirming items, but would otherwise be unable to afford them.

CAN I APPLY IF MY COLLEGE HAS A GENDER EXPRESSION FUND?
Yes - but please note that this University-wide fund is meant to be purely supplemental to any College Gender Expression Funds. We would strongly recommend considering an application at the college-level prior to this university-wide fund.
If your college doesn't have a Gender Expression Fund, you may consider submitting a JCR / MCR Motion to create one. Example motions can be found here: http://www.oulgbtq.org/genderexpressionfunds.html. You can also contact anyone on the LGBTQ+ Society Committee to help you put together a Motion and accompany you to any meetings where it is discussed or voted on.
CAN I BE REIMBURSED FOR THE COSTS OF PRESCRIPTIONS OR CONSULTATIONS?
Unfortunately, at present we are generally unable to facilitate reimbursements for prescriptions or consultations. However, the Society is willing to consider applications on a case-by-case basis, and able to point towards other resources which may be of use- please contact outreasu@gmail.com, outrans01@gmail.com or outrans02@gmail.com to further discuss this.
WILL I REMAIN ANONYMOUS?
The only person able to access the full information provided in the form is the Trans and Non-Binary Reps of the OULGBTQ+ Society, who will anonymise any information provided before passing it on for consideration. Information like your ox.ac.uk email address is only collected in order to verify that you are a member of the University of Oxford, and to contact you. If you have any further concerns about remaining anonymous, feel free to contact outreasu@gmail.com, outrans01@gmail.com or outrans02@gmail.com using a throwaway email.
HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I GET?
Depending on the cost of the item and the number of applicants, students can receive up to £50 in reimbursement or partial reimbursement from the Fund.
HOW IS THE AMOUNT I RECEIVE DECIDED?
The amount received is decided primarily based upon 1) the number of applicants and 2) the total amount allocated to the Fund for the term.
WHEN WILL I FIND OUT THE OUTCOME?
Applications are reviewed THREE TIMES per term to allow for fair allocation across applicants. (All applications made after the final deadline will be rolled over to the first round of the following term.)
The first round of applications will close on Sunday of 2th Week, with everyone being informed of the outcome by Sunday of 3rd week
The second round will close on Sunday of 4th Week, with everyone being informed of the outcome by Sunday of 5th.
The third round will close on Sunday of 6th Week, with everyone being informed of the outcome by Sunday of 7th.
